final class CovariantBridgeAsmGenerator extends Object implements org.objectweb.asm.Opcodes
Emits the covariant-return bridges an operation's IR asks for (OperationInstr.getBridgeReturnTypes(), front-end rationalisation N07). An override may narrow its return (make() returning Circle over a parent's Shape), but a JVM method's identity includes its return type, so make()LCircle; does not override make()LShape;: a call through the parent's type ran the parent's body, or failed with AbstractMethodError when the parent was abstract. For each parent return type this emits make()LShape; calling the override virtually - javac's bridge, decided in the IR rather than here.

Sibling of AnyComparisonBridgeAsmGenerator, which bridges the PARAMETER side (_eq(Any)). A trait is an interface, so its bridge is an interface default reaching the override with INVOKEINTERFACE. The descriptors come from the caller's own builder, so a bridge can never disagree with the method it reaches.
