THE decoding of the escape sequences in an EK9 String literal's text (quotes already stripped): \t, \n, A, \101, etc. resolve to their characters; an unrecognised escape (\T) and a malformed unicode escape pass through as written. The input comes back unchanged when it holds no backslash. Every reader of a String literal's value goes through this one decoder (constants, text bodies, interpolated parts, constraints).
