Enum Class OutputStep

java.lang.Object
java.lang.Enum<OutputStep>
org.ek9lang.compiler.support.streams.OutputStep
All Implemented Interfaces:
Serializable, Comparable<OutputStep>, Constable

public enum OutputStep extends Enum<OutputStep>
What a stream statement does to an output channel (IsOutputChannel, e.g. a StringOutput, UDP) sink before the first element is pulled (Steve, 2026-10-21): > CLEARS it (a file output empties the file), >> APPENDS (a file output keeps what is there). The two are hidden runtime members, _clear() and _append() - no EK9 source can name them - which do nothing on a StringOutput by default, so only a file output acts on them. THE one decision (OutputStepFor), asked beside ReplacesTargetOnCompletion; a back end never re-derives it.
